This is the Peregrine Falcon. It has taken it's name from the bird, which is the fastest living animal on our planet, can reach up to speeds like 180 miles per hour.
This section of the ship holds a cryogenic laboratory. These systems are used to animate-inanimate people during very long space voyages. This creates a time-warp effect on people who had this procedure, and shortens the trip in a relative way.
